Wanam Badwan says he hopes this will help the refugees read the entire Quran as a way to soothe their grief.

He said the people of the Gaza Strip have been forgotten by the world and have no other way than resorting to the Book of God, Al Jazeera reported.

According to Badwan, most of the displaced Gazans living in refugee camps have no Qurans to read as they have left behind everything they had.

Using electronic copies of the Quran is not an option either as the connection to the Internet has been cut off in the region, he noted.

The refugees have welcomed the move. Hassan, who lives in a refugee camp, described the Quran as the spring of hearts and urged everyone to read the Holy Book and act upon its teachings.

While the Israeli aggression on Gaza continues, people in the Palestinian enclave have kept up Quranic activities, holding Quran memorizationa and reading courses in tents in refugee camps.
